The house itself is old - we don't know exactly how old. But before WWII it used to be a farm, and afterwards it was rebuild as a hotel.
We bought it in 2012 and redid everything. All our creative energy and ideas were invested, and every detail attended to. Everything is about literature and geek culture - there are books everywhere, and pictures and art connected to literature and movies.
You can discover plenty of small details, and we invite you to marvel and to be inspired.

Besides the rooms we also have a bar with more or less unusual spirits and drinks, and a cosy restaurant with sofas to sit and read and relax.
There is also a large terrace with view of the forest, where you can enjoy the sunshine.
In the afternoon we serve waffles and coffee / tea, and for the evening we have a small menu with local and international delicacies.

With views of the scenic Eifel National Park, this hotel offers free WiFi and a garden terrace. It is peacefully situated 1.5 km from the Rursee Lake in the small town of Heimbach.

The rooms at Hinter den Spiegeln are individually decorated with a literary theme, and all feature satellite TV and a private bathroom. Some rooms include a balcony, while others have a bath.

A 50-minute drive from Cologne, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Eiffel Hills. It is located directly on several hiking trails and provides bicycle and motorbike storage.

The hotel is 24 km from the A1 motorway, and Heimbach Train Station is 1.5 km away. Free private parking is available on site.
