The best skiing in Sweden can be found at Åre Ski Resort, with its 100 pistes and 40 lifts. Hotel Diplomat Åregården is a traditional hotel located opposite Åre’s main square, in the very centre of Åre with stunning views of the mountains and lakes. The atmosphere can be compared to that of an international alpine style. The building dates back to the early 1900s, and much of the décor has been preserved since then. The hotel library, where guests can read books and magazines and play board games, features turn-of-the-century paintings.

The hotel is located next to the mountain railway and the cable-car lift that can transport you to Åreskutan’s top, which measures 1420 metres above sea level.

Rooms at Hotel Diplomat combine modern amenities with the traditional local style of Jämtland region. Guests staying in rooms located in the older part of Åregården are treated to breathtaking views of Lake Åresjön as well as the surrounding mountains.

Hotel Diplomat Åregården provides all its guests free access to the swimming pool as well as the separate saunas. Guests can also experience rafting, dogsledding and hiking tours.

Traditional Swedish cuisine, as well as a waffle-menu, is served at Åregården Bar & Bistro, and a comfortable lounge atmosphere can be enjoyed at Åregården Larder & Wine bar. During peak season guests at Hotel Diplomat are offered free admission to the Country Club, one of Åre’s most popular nightclubs.
