Rødseter Farm & Inn is an ancient farm that has been in the owners family since 1600. It's hard to find a place that will make you feel more relaxed and disconnected from the daily life than here. The houses are built from timber and stone and are 150 years old. This is as authentic as it gets. We are located in a beautiful green valley, surrounded by massive mountains and the largest glacier in continental Europe. The history of this place includes famous glacier pioneers, hard working farmers, travelers and out of the box thinkers. HM Queen Sonja of Norway has visited Rødseter Farm several times. During your stay you can choose to go on an excursion to the glacier at 1000 m.a.s. with its breathtaking view of the fjord and mountains, or take an easier hike to one of the many pastures in the area. We know the best places. Our cuisine focuses on what our surrounding nature has to offer and are influenced by traditional ways to prepare food, but with a modern touch.

Rødseter Gjestegård is a working farm, peacefully located in the countryside of Fjarland and offers views of the impressive, surrounding mountains.

Every room is decorated with historic items from the old glacier pioneers that used to live and work on the farm.

A continental breakfast is served daily, as well as a daily evening dinner, made from local ingredients and based on traditional recipes from the area

Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including hiking, the glacier trail starts right on the doorstep of Rødseter Gjestegård.
