Built in 1767 by Sir Boucheron, Elbee’s Hotel became the residence of Noirmoutier’s Mayor (1794-1797) who gave it its original name, "Mansion of Lebreton des Grapillières."

It then passed through the hands of a number of middle-class families, before being abandoned in the early twentieth century. The building then served as a salt warehouse and later a Customs office.

It was not restored until after the Second World War, and was transformed into a tourist hotel only in the early 70’s.

As a result of its long and varied history, the building contains many treasures considered historic monuments, including in particular the façade overlooking the harbor and the military parade square, the interior patio and the main staircase.

Housed in an 18th-century historical building, this hotel is just in front of the medieval castle of Noirmoutier. It offers an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a sun deck and a seating area with free WiFi throughout the property.

    Tried to eat there but they opened only at 7PM so took a table at the terrace and brought the kids to the loo. They refused to have them go! I guess from the other tips it must be great but they suck!
