The house was a shop and residence of a silk merchant in Qing dynasty (1644 – 1911). The architecture dates back 260 years. After 1949, it had become a photography workshop, an eye clinic, and then an engine manufacturing shop. Well preserved until now.

Boasting well preserved architectural structure and attention-to-detail service, Jing's Residence is a hidden gem in the ancient walled town of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For those who seek original flavours of local life, Jing's Residence would be the ideal choice. Free WiFi access is available in all areas.

Jing’s Residence is a 10-minute walk from Ancient City Wall and a 30-minute drive from Pingyao Railway Station. Taiyuan Wusu International Airport is a 1.5-hour drive away.

These 19 delicately arranged rooms at this boutique hotel are furnished in natural shades. Cloth sofa, decorative calligraphy works and cosy bed with transparent curtains all add relaxing ambience. Featuring a shower, private bathrooms also come with free toiletries and slippers. Extras include a desk and a kettle.

Tea table and chairs are set outside each pavilion, offering you a place to soak up the historic, laid-back atmosphere. You may also drink tea and do reading in the courtyard or at the library with travel mates. Other facilities offered include tour desk and luggage storage.
