Spinguera is located on the north coast of the island of Boa Vista in the archipelago of Cape Verde, located off the west coast of Africa.
The Hotel used to be a fishermen village, with whole families living from fishing and agriculture. On the 1970’s and after a long draught period, most of the villagers decided to go to the nearest villages, searching for better life conditions.
Larissa Lazzari, the hotel owner, fell in love with the island of Boa Vista. Most specifically with Spinguera breathe taking scenery. She had an idea for a project that would take 4 hard years (the restoration began on 2003, ending in 2007) to complete. Only local artisans and workers were involved in the hotel restoration. The hotel was idealized with a green concept, with the use of solar panels, and Aeolic wind mill to provide carbon free energy, and a sustainable concept to integrate the hotel on the scenery, and to respect the local traditions and colors. The old ruins received a new life, but the environment and surroundings remained the same.
Set on the north coast of Boa Vista Island, this hotel offers 12 exclusive rooms in front of the Ocean. You can browse the on-site shop or rent a 4x4, with or without a driver.
Views of the sea and a contemporary decoration are included in all of the rooms at Spinguera Ecolodge. All have an en suite bathroom with a shower and some have a small terrace area just outside the room.
Homemade jam is served with the continental breakfast and packed lunches can be made upon request. You can also sample meat dishes or locally caught fish in the restaurant, with a drink from the bar.
Free public parking is possible on site and internet access is also available in public areas. Rabil International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the property.
