The hotel is a conversion of 4 Greek houses built in the early 1900s with most of the original features preserved.The rooms are decorated with classical old style furniture. The front rooms look over Golden Horn and the backstreet rooms have bay windows with a beautiful Phanar view. On the ground floor there is a Greek Restaurant with delicious and traditional Greek and Turkish food.

There are 3 suites, 12 double rooms and 2 single rooms at the Hotel Troya Balat. All have air conditioning, a minibar, telephone, shower, hairdryer, kettle and cable TV. Each room has a different decoration and atmosphere.
Everything in the building, from the hand painted murals to the old wooden doors, floors and ceilings, is original. The old water pumps, stained glass windows, and marble sinks are still being used.
