Set within the walls of the golden fort of Jaisalmer, one of the few remaining living forts in the world is Hotel Himmat Niwas. The Hotel is an amazing 400year old haveli which has recently undergone a two year (completed 2015) restoration project to develop one of the fort largest residences into a heritage hotel. The hotel is like a fantasy of beautiful golden stone where you will be amazed by the carved Rajasthani windows, traditional architecture and an amazing rooftop which catches both sunrise and sunset and fabulous views of the surrounding city, desert and fort palace
The hotel has been decorated with locally sourced hand block printed fabrics, 80% of the linen has been hand blocked printed and stitched on site. The hotels furniture has been sourced both from Jodhpur and made by hand on site with limited power tools, and generally with hand tools, some tools needing to be made on site.
