I think Yangshou shines the best when you are trying off the beaten path things: climbing, caveing, trying local food (not just Kung Pao chicken, come on) and renting a scooter.
I'm genuinely impressed by the environment, people and abundance of culture of Yangshuo.
I tried a lot of local delicacies including oil tea 油茶,snail noodles 螺蛳粉 and beer fish. Definitely something you won't be able to try anywhere else. I liked first two, not the last one :)
I loved exploring surroundings via scooter, it is such a nice thing. And you have a chance to enjoy superb infrastructure of China. You won't believe me if I tell you that Yangshuo has highways with both motor- and bike- lanes. Simply amazing.
I recommend trying outdoor climbing and even caveing. There are many great spots (ask your hotel host, they should be able to tell you).
Come and enjoy.

For me, I went to Yangshuo for a relaxing getaway and that's just what I got. I don't know when the last time I have been this relaxed. I have friends who go there for rock-climbing and go a few times per year. The city is not very big so you don't need a lot of time going from place to place. I would advise to stay somewhere outside the city, like, within 5-6 kilometers and just rent a scooter. Actually, riding the scooter helped me get familiar with the city a lot better. And it's a form of meditation in and of itself, offering a bit of concentration as I got some sun on my face and cool wind in my hair.

Yangshuo is one of the prettiest parts of China in our opinion. The beauty of the Karst mountains is stunning and never bored us. The diversity of the mountains is a real treat for the eye. There are plenty of activities around like caving, climbing Moon hill, bamboo rafting the yulong river, exploring the environment on a rental scooter (¥30,- a day) or even helicopter and hot air balloon rides! Don't miss out on the local beer fish, a dish famous for a reason! Dine at Yangshuo Mountain retreat (the Brew) for the best tranquil dinner ever! Have lunch at 'Moon Hill restaurant' before or after climbing the mountain. The restaurant is located right next to the entry of the hill. Amazing view while eating local food. Take a few hours to visit the cable car, glass bridge and view platform of Ruyi park, lovely as well.

Yangshuo is located in the midst of a beautiful and tropical karst Mountain landscape and there are plenty of attractions ranging from caves to cable cars and tea plantations around, but the town itself is highly commercialised and most businesses cater to domestic package tourists.

Ruyi Peak was amazing, the moon caves were fabulous, and the white water rafting was incredible. Generally, the stunning nature was awe-inspiring. I would probably avoid the 'Impression Light Show'... it was 'ok' but only 'ok'.

There is so much to do in Yangshuo!
There is so much to do in Yangshuo! People say sanya is the Thailand of China, but all it has is a beach, this place feels much more like Thailand and captures the backpacker scene. Stay in hostels, get mopeds, meet new people and explore the gorgeous scenery
We couldn’t have had a better stay in Yangshuo! Sammie, Eric and Limin were incredibly friendly and helpful - even walking with us to rent scooters and to the restaurant to help us order the best dishes. The room was great and the common area is lovely with outdoor seating and a pool table. Eric also stocks the best italian coffee and Belgian beers. The location in the countryside is beautiful, and much more relaxing than being in town (which is a quick drive away). We wish we could’ve stayed longer, and will definitely be back one day!
The hotel is located in stunning area. The views of the river valley, the mountains and the sunrises were awesome.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Nobody spoke English, but despite that the communication was very good.
Xianggong Mountain is a very short walk away and provides a fantastic view of the river valley. Xingping Town is a must see and the hotel provided free shuttle to and from the river ferry. The river is only a few hundred metres wide and so the ferry trip lasts just a few minutes.
the Hotel employees or the best very easy to work with very friendly spoken. Very good English always there to help always with a smile really really helpful.
The location being outside of the main city is really awesome if you are looking for a quiet nice night
The mopeds that they rent there are the best things ever makes life and getting around so much easier
Fridge is $30 a night. You are getting way more than your moneys worth as I mentioned the people there are awesome
The owner of the hotel, Mark is a unique person! It creates a very kind atmosphere in the hotel. In two days, it was as if we had become one big family. Mark spent a lot of time with us. We traveled a lot to beautiful places that not everyone knows and that not all tourists visit. Mark has become my brother over the past few days. These were the most exciting and eventful days of our entire trip to China. I didn't expect such care. We will definitely come back to this hotel.
This property was a great find. It was clean and comfortable with a traditional Chinese feel and great views over the karst hills. The staff here are brilliant. They checked in every day to make sure that we were enjoying the stay. The hotel booked the tours for us which we really enjoyed. The property is about a 20-30 minute walk to West Street but there is a little shop right next to the hotel where bikes and e-bikes can be hired.
Nice cozy room with good view and comfortable bed. Best location because it is central but also quiet even despite the fact that there is a restaurant operating. You get to have a good quality restaurant at the location and also a very nice coffee shop next to your hotel. Everything else is a few steps away and the hotel can arrange any activity for you, from renting an e-bike to going for bamboo rafting etc.
Best hostel for both climbers and non-climbers alike that want to experience the amazing Yangshuo. Lily was an amazing host and as a pretty inexperienced climber she guided me in all the best routes in area. I’m sure during peak season you would have no problem finding a climbing partner. Hotel facilities were prefect and great value for money. Definitely would recommend if you’re staying in Yangshuo.
Everything!
1. The check in was smooth. I was lost, the owner speaks English. She got the assistant to come find me in the main road and took me back to the place.
2. The place is modern and clean. Has the most stunning view. Very close to the fields.
3. Big room for super cheap. Best value for money I've gotten for a room in China.
4. You can rent a scooter around the corner.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and you immediately feel as though you are at home. The location is beautiful and quiet and still close enough to Yangshuo town to visit. Free use of bicycles. The food at the hotel is really brilliant, and offers some very well cooked local dishes. The rice noodles are great for breakfast and the beer fish was lovely.
I had a great stay at the Inn, also called "Luna Inn". It's outside Yangshuo, in a small village, so it's more peaceful and quiet in the evening, better to connect with nature. The facilities were great, and all the staff was very friendly. They also had bikes that I could use for free, so I went around the farming villages which was beautiful
Friendliest hotel staff I have ever experienced. When there was a problem with the room on the last night, they gave us a free room. Excellent location outside the busy and noisy city of Yangshuo, ideal spot to explore Yulong River and the villages in either direction. You can rent an e-scooter/bike from the property for a very good price.
The property is located in the center of Yangshuo, making it convenient to go anywhere. West Street, the Ten-Mile Gallery, and the Yulong River bamboo rafting are all accessible. You can also enjoy rock climbing and cycling. The homestay is very clean, and the owner is very friendly, willing to help plan your trip here in the best way!
I had a room with balcony view, which was really beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. The hotel is a bit away from the touristy center, which has negative aspects, but also means it is very calm.
The garden is very pretty and the rooms look like in the pictures, modern and very clean.
very cozy hotel with 20 rooms, very good service, rooms were traditionally decorated and spacious, nice swimmingpool and very beautiful and well maintained garden. cosy restaurant, breakfast mostly Chinese orientated because main part of the guest were Chinese but we could order a Western breakfast in advance.
It was an incredible experience visiting the beautiful Guangxi scenery, new hotel in the perfect location, special mention to the hospitality from the owner and all the staffs, they serve with heart and very helpful, our family like all the food they serve. Will stay here again for my next visit.
We initially were going to stay for 3 nights but extended to a total of 5 because we enjoyed the hotel accommodations and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is nice and we enjoyed the trips they helped book and our own adventures on bikes.
The hotel staff went out of their way to help us organise trips - stay extra nights - drop us off into Yangshou and back. It was clean, modern and the pool is beautiful. We had such a fantastic holiday and will definitely come again.
beautiful small and cute hotel in a good location near Yangshuo town. it’s our 3th time here. Quite with amazing views. the staff is nice and helpful. everything in Tea Cozy is simple oerfect.
Excellent location with great vibes. The hotel has a restaurant with authentic local cuisine. Highly recommended. Helpful staff and the hotel room is very clean 😃.
