Had a guided tour of the castle which was very interesting.
Had a guided tour of the castle which was very interesting. We also visited the Abbey adjacent. We also like the promenade walk along the River Lune which is easily accessible from the hotel. Lancaster is built on hills so for the mobility limited it can be difficult to walk around. We drove directly to the castle car park for blue badge holders. We ate all meals in our hotel.

We had to use the council car park because the hotel didn’t have their own. It cost us £12 each night and we got a parking ticket the first morning because the attendant misread our ticket. This means we now have to deal with that, very annoying. Local residents said beware the council !!!

Lancaster is a good place to visit for an overnight stay.
Lancaster is a good place to visit for an overnight stay. It has a compact central shopping area with a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. You could centre your stay around a trip to the theatre or cinema. There are also museums to interest the visitor. Where I stayed (the University) has a very good bus service into town.
Really lovely Hosts...they couldn't be more welcoming. The hotel was spotless and in a really good comfortable condition. Breakfast was plentiful and you had a good choice of drinks, yoghurts, breakfast bars, fruit, cereals and toast with jams and marmalade.
There was free parking at the rear of the building which was a real bonus!
The owners were very good at giving advice of where to visit and pubs and restaurants to try out.
Really enjoyed our stay and will be going back the next time in Lancaster....
We stayed at the Lancaster House Hotel to attend the open day at the University of Lancaster. We liked more or less everything about this hotel, especially the proximity to the university's campus. It is also conveniently located near a bus stop and has plenty of parking available. We loved the room we were staying in with plenty of space and comfortable beds. Live piano music contributed to a nice ambiance at dinner time. We would be happy to return to this hotel again.
Picture perfect cottage with original fireplace and oak beams , as well as a well tended garden looked after by a neighbour. Sally, the host, is so lovely and made us very welcome with enough for a cuppa to get us settled. The local shop was a couple of minutes walk and the Black Bill in at the bottom of the street. we also had a meal in The Station Hotel with family who live in Lancaster and everyone, including the 7 and 2 x12 year olds. We will definitely be back.
Excellent location, near to all amenities, very clean and warm.
Plenty of room for the six of us. Everything provided and a nice supply of games to keep us occupied of an evening.
Great base for Morecambe Bay, Lancaster, Blackpool and the Lake District.
Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and look forward to returning.
I would highly recommend a stay here.
Lovely place to stay, would defo book again next time I visit Lancaster uni (it's only a couple of miles up the road and a great deal cheaper than the hotel on campus!).
All the staff were very welcoming and helpful...
The owners had an issue with their gas supply, but that didnt stop them from delivering an excellent cooked breakfast!
Location of this hotel is excellent for the centre of Lancaster. All communication for the booking and arrival was very well provided. Check in was easy. The room was exactly as expected, clean and comfortable. Tea making and biscuits lovely.
Would use this hotel again.
Set in very attractive grounds. Very good basic accommodation typical university campus. Great for a short stay, easy access to Lancaster, very frequent bus service, good connections. Excellent refectory breakfast included.
A spacious, comfortable hotel. Nice big room. Very convenient for drivers coming off the motorway, but you are not aware of being quite near it because you are far away enough to be unaffected, and because of the trees.
very well situated right in the centre of Lancaster clean and nicely decorated hotel, very friendly staff nothing too much trouble.
the breakfast and evening meal were exceptional
good value for money.
It was a small but lovely, well laid out, clean efficiency apartment. Met all of our needs. Perfect for spending the days in Lancaster and having a nice spot to relax and re-energize at night.
No-hassle checkin / checkout experience and good communication throughout. Pleasant room. Great location right in the centre of Lancaster and near to the excellent Sun Hotel for food/drink.
The hotel is very well located between the canals and city centre area, and the breakfast was acceptable, but the price per night it's definitely too much and unjustified for what you get.
It was great having an apartment in the middle of Lancaster. We were a group of friends so much nicer to have a kitchen and a lounge to hang out in. Everything was very clean and modern.
A lovely, clean holiday home in an excellent location to enjoy Lancaster from. Loved the decor. Excellent communications. We will happily book from Caroline again.
We stayed here for a tour of Lancaster and this hotel was ideally located. Staff very friendly and nice evening meal. Rooms clean and well kept. Ample parking.
Lovely hotel in central location of Lancaster. The room was spacious and nice. The personal was friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed my breakfast very much.
